Foreign Minister Alexander Stubb: ICJ ruling on Kosovo extremely welcome

Foreign Minister Alexander Stubb welcomes the publication of the Advisory Opinion of the International Court of Justice (ICJ). The Advisory Opinion clearly confirms that Kosovo’s declaration of independence in 2008 was legal. Minister Stubb urges Serbia and Kosovo to look now to the future and to concentrate on the opportunity offered by the EU to engage in a process of constructive dialogue with a view to developing good neighbourly relations and regional cooperation in line with the EU’s basic principles. “I give my full support to this EU offer put forward by High Representative Catherine Ashton,” Stubb says.
